Definition Of Hardware:-
Hardware or HOW can be defined as all the physical components that are a part of a computer system. This means that all the devices that you can see on your computer can be characterized as computer hardware.
For example, the screen of a computer that you see the second you turn on the device is hardware. In other words, it can also be said that hardware simply refers to all the tangible and physical components of a computer. This includes all the components that can be seen or touched
The hardware of the computer system includes monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, printer, sound system, RAM, hard disk and many more. Hardware is used for taking input data from the user, store the data and display the output and execute the commands given by an individual.
Types of Hardware
On the basis of the operations an hardware perform we can divide them into two types.
- Input devices
- output devices
Input Devices
Input devices are used to capture data and instructions from user in user acceptable format and enter into computer. The whole operation is called inputting.
- Keyboard (onscreen keyboard)
- Mouse (laser, wifi)
- Microphone (soft copy)
- Digital Camera (image) , Camcorder (video)
- Scanner (soft copy), Barcode scanner, Hand Helded scanner
- Composite Device (Game Controllers, Joystick, Joy pad)
Output Devices
output devices are used to receive information from computer in computer accept form and convert it into user acceptable format and display or print it. The whole operation is called outputting. There are two main types of Output can be made. Hard-copy and soft-copy.
These examples of output devices also include input/output devices.Printers and visual displays are the most common type of output device for interfacing to people, but voice is becoming increasingly available.
